Bitumen

Bitumen Products

High-quality refined bitumen products designed for construction, road paving, waterproofing, and industrial applications worldwide.

What is Bitumen?

Bitumen, also known as refined bitumen, is a semi-solid hydrocarbon produced through the distillation of crude oil. It is formed by removing lighter fractions such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrol, and diesel, leaving behind a dense, highly adhesive material. Due to its strong binding properties, durability, and resistance to water, bitumen plays a critical role in modern construction and infrastructure development.

This versatile material is widely used in road construction, roofing systems, and waterproofing applications. Its ability to withstand heavy traffic loads, varying weather conditions, and long-term environmental exposure makes it an essential component in asphalt production and civil engineering projects.

Globally, more than 100 million tons of bitumen are consumed each year, with approximately 85% used as a binder in asphalt for roads, highways, airports, and parking areas. The remaining portion is utilized in industrial applications such as insulation, sealing, pipe coating, and protective materials.

Bitumen Product
Road Construction

Used as a binder in asphalt concrete for highways, airports, and pavements.

Roofing

Provides excellent waterproofing for roofing systems and insulation.

Industrial Use

Used in sealing, pipe coating, paints, and construction materials.

Types of Bitumen

Penetration Grade Bitumen

Classified based on hardness and penetration depth under standard conditions. Ideal for various climates and construction needs.

Viscosity Grade Bitumen

Defined by viscosity at standard temperatures, offering strong adhesion and water resistance for high-performance roads.

Cutback Bitumen

Low-viscosity bitumen mixed with solvents, suitable for cold weather applications without heating.

Bitumen Emulsion

A mixture of bitumen and water offering safer, energy-efficient application with reduced environmental impact.

Oxidized Bitumen (Blown Asphalt)

Produced by blowing hot air into bitumen to increase durability and softening point. Widely used in waterproofing, roofing, and industrial sealing applications.

Applications

Bitumen is used across multiple industries including road construction, waterproofing, insulation, automotive, and pipeline protection. It plays a key role in modern infrastructure development due to its durability, flexibility, and resistance to water.
