Sugar Beet Pulp Pellets for Animal Feed

Sugar beet is widely cultivated in temperate regions and contains 15–20% sucrose. Around 20–22% of global sugar production comes from sugar beet, with the rest from sugarcane.

By-products such as beet pulp and molasses are highly valuable for animal nutrition. Beet pulp contains up to 25% fiber and is widely used in ruminant feeding.

Processing of Sugar Beet Pulp Pellets

Beets are washed and sliced into cossettes.

Extraction with hot water (~70°C for 100 minutes).

Juice purification using lime and carbon dioxide.

Evaporation into thick juice and crystallization.

Centrifugation separates sugar crystals and molasses.

Remaining pulp is dried and pelletized for feed use.
